The Missing Home

Yitik Ev

Yağmur Canpolat · Türkiye · Documentary · 10’57”

The Missing Home explores both the physical and emotional devastation caused to the inhabitants of a building demolished due to urban transformation. Composed of four parts, the film questions the bond between space and the individual by presenting the non-linear history of the house through demolition footage and personal objects. Recordings made before and during the demolition reveal the profound impact of objects on the individual and the importance of memories. The vast void left behind after the demolition serves as a powerful metaphor symbolizing the erasure of memories beyond the physical loss. The film invites the viewer to perceive the space not merely as a shelter, but as an emotional realm shaped by memories.

Drip

Zeynep Sude Yavuz · Türkiye · Animation · 10’

Drip is an experimental stop-motion short film that explores the role of water in the cycle of life and the fragile relationship between humans and nature through symbolism. In her winter garden, an elderly woman preparing her family tree realizes that each drop from a leaking tap gradually erases her past. In this process, water represents the flow of memory rather than life itself. Her attempt to recover what is lost leads her into an abstract world, where water gains meaning as the memory of nature. When she delivers the final drop to a tree, life begins to grow again.
